1:40 Tommy Hackenbruck is the only person to stand on the podium at the CrossFit Games as both an individual and a team member. He came on the show to talk about how Ute CrossFit won the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games team competition. He described what it was like to take first in the winner-take-all final workout. As a business owner, Hackenbruck described how smart affiliate owners should handle the situation when a new affiliate opens close to their own. Along those lines, the former college linebacker talked about how collaborating with other coaches has been a part of his success.
40:45 Erin Cafaro is coming off an impressive gold-medal performance at the 2012 London Olympics in women’s eights rowing. She talked about what it was like to win another gold medal at the Olympics and explained how CrossFit has helped her prepare during the last four years. Cafaro described what it’s like to work with experts such as Kelly Starrett and Brian MacKenzie and how they help her even though they aren't “rowing coaches.” She also talked about what might be next for her and how attempting to qualify for the CrossFit Games could be on the agenda.
