Think the Pose Method only applies to long-distance running? Think again, says Dr. Nicholas Romanov, creator of Pose running.
“It’s great how he runs. It’s beautiful,” he says of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt.
Bolt holds the 100-meter and 200-meter world records and recently defended his Olympic titles in both events. Along with his teammates, he set the world record in the 4x100-meter relay at the London Olympics. Bolt is the first man to win six Olympic gold medals in sprinting.
Just like long-distance runners, Bolt falls forward when he runs. He just falls forward faster than anyone else, Romanov explains.
“This is a great example because some people say that we’re just teaching people how to jog better, and when you see a guy that runs like Usain Bolt does, this isn’t jogging,” notes Justin Bergh, general manager of the CrossFit Games. “The best sprinter in the world runs Pose Method just like an efficient long-distance runner would run.”
