Box-jump world record holder Ryan Moody appeared on the show to talk about his training and his quest to establish a world record. Justin also interviewed Adam Neiffer, the owner of CrossFit Fort Vancouver, the box that recently won the Affiliate Cup at the 2010 CrossFit Games. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010.
After reading a question and answer from Coach Mike Burgener’s site, Justin outlined a new iPod app that allows you to track your WODs on an iPhone.
12:00 Patrick James is your normal CrossFitter, but he has seen amazing results since starting the program a few short months ago. He accepted a challenge from his CrossFitting son Michael and has been hitting it hard at CrossFit Peachtree City ever since. He came on the show to talk about his mission to lose 120 lb. and his incredible results so far.
29:10 Ryan Moody is a trainer at CrossFit 801, and he’s also the current world record holder for a standing box jump. Moody came on the show to talk about the training that helped him hit a PR 60-inch box jump, and he explained how he has used this accomplishment to motivate kids. Moody has overcome incredible adversity in coming back from a series of injuries, and the world record holder uses his story to inspire others.
46:30 Adam Neiffer is the owner of CrossFit Fort Vancouver. His affiliate recently won the 2010 Affiliate Cup Challenge by outperforming the rest of an incredibly deep pool at the Home Depot Center. He detailed his affiliate’s selection process for the team and talked about the team’s preparation and training leading up to the competition. Neiffer also shared his thoughts on the entire Games weekend and what it felt like to walk away with the highly coveted title “Affiliate Cup champions.” Apparently winning the title has motivated all the members of his box, and every athlete shows up to every WOD with his or her A game as a result.
