Greg Glassman has a unique way of evaluating the quality of an affiliate: he asks about the cleanliness of the bathroom.
That, of course, isn’t to say training knowledge isn’t important, but rather that technique and coaching skills can be learned, whereas caring is more difficult to teach. Speaking at FilFest 2010, Glassman explains that the bathroom is simply a symbol of how much you care and how much pride you take in your business.
At the foundational level, training comes down to is love of your clients, pride and a profound commitment to excellence. If you really, really care, everything else usually falls into place—including technical excellence.
