Virtuosity in Photos: Call for Submissions

Photos have been a big part of CrossFit since they started appearing on CrossFit.com in 2003. Lenses have captured millions of amazing moments that define our program and community—from instructional images that showcase the subtle nuances of technique to photographs that document the raw emotion of a group of friends as they strive to become fitter.

In 2016, we want you to send your best images to the CrossFit Journal. Tell us a story we can share with the community. We’ll select the best photo essays for publication, and in thanks we’ll pay the author US$500 and send his or her affiliate or garage gym a $500 gift card from Rogue Fitness.

We expect a large volume of submissions, so make yours stand out by pursuing virtuosity. You don’t need to be a professional photographer with expensive equipment, but you must know how to tell a story through pictures. Strive for excellence, which is a way of paraphrasing Ansel Adams: “There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.”

Please review the “range-of-motion standards” in the PDF, then send your submissions to virtuosity@crossfit.com. Due to the large volume of submissions, we cannot respond to each email or requests for feedback. Only those selected for publication will be contacted.
