Sept. 3, 2011: Just another September day to many, but to those of us in the San Diego CrossFit community, it was much more than that. It was a day to remember the 31 heroes whose NATO helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan’s eastern Wardak Province on Aug. 6, 2011.
What better way to pay tribute to those heroes than on the deck of a World War II-era aircraft carrier?
