4:25 Diane McKinney started CrossFitting after 10 years of inactivity. She is now in her 50s and in the best shape of her life. She’s seen amazing results and talked about how she reached her goals, and she gives a lot of credit to her biggest supporter, Ed. He was her trainer when she started CrossFit, and he helped her through her struggles, frustrations and tears. They’re now engaged. McKinney talked about how she found CrossFit, how the community took her in and made her feel accepted, and how CrossFit transformed her entire life. The masters athlete is now competing in Open with hopes of making it to the Reebok CrossFit Games this summer.
36:45 Adam Stevenson is one of the owners of Outlier CrossFit in San Diego. His affiliate team barely missed qualifying for the Games last year, and he talked about what changes they’ve made in their training and how motivated the entire team is. Stevenson explained how he helps prepare a team for the competition season and described how they incorporate mobility work into their programming. Talking about the Open, Stevenson gave predictions on movements he thinks will come up and pointed out some dark horses in the hotly contested Southern California region.
