3:25 Mel Metten owns CrossFit Bangor, and she has a problem: her box has only been open for nine months, but her affiliate is exploding. She explained how rapid growth is a good problem to have, but she’s now faced with finding a larger space and acquiring more equipment. Metten talked about how she wants to expand the business but actually has to hold people off from starting until her new space is running. Metten also explained what her affiliate is doing for the Reebok CrossFit Games Open and how much fun it’s been for new CrossFitters to see where they stack up against the rest of the world.
24:40 Tanya Wagner won the 2009 CrossFit Games as an individual. In 2010, Wagner competed on the CrossFit Apex team. She came on the show to talk about coming back to competition after having a baby boy and how she feels she has to make up ground she lost over the last two years. Wagner explained why she’s competing as an individual again and described how the Open is going for her so far.
