Diego’s Story

Early in his childhood, 12-year-old Diego Rodriguez was diagnosed with ADHD.

His mom tried everything: soccer, basketball, swimming. Still, she needed to give him melatonin every day so he could sleep at night. Then she heard about CrossFit Kids at CrossFit Fever in Pembroke Pines, Fla.

“We wanted to find a type of exercise that would fit and would wear him out, but at the same time he would feel comfortable with,” said Diego’s mom, Consuelo Rodriguez. “The type of exercise that he does here works very, very well for him. Not only to sleep but also it changes his mood. He feels good in here because of the group. … It’s like a big family.”

Today, Diego is no longer on any medication.

“He has a very warm spot in my heart,” says CrossFit Fever co-owner Elizabeth Benavides.
