He explained how Australians are doing CrossFit in record numbers, with more and more of them looking to compete in the upcoming CrossFit Games season, which starts Feb. 27 with the Open. Cook described his facility and talked about his goal to create an upscale affiliate that rivals the best gyms in Sydney. He said he offers a women-only “pink program” at his affiliate because it allows females who are intimidated by group classes to gain confidence and work into training slowly. He also gave his reasons for offering open-gym time to his members. Moving on to the upcoming CrossFit competition season, Cook shared his opinions on perhaps having multiple Regional events in Australia in the future as participation numbers increase. Finally, he gave his predictions for the 2014 Australia Regional and mentioned a few dark horses who could make a statement on the leaderboard this year.
