Set in the picturesque Sierras, CrossFit Avalanche is an enviable CrossFit gym. This is especially true because the box hosted events for the Rogue Vs. Again Faster Throwdown.

So what’s it like to host some of the world’s best athletes at your box? CrossFit Avalanche co-owners Myles Lewis and Travis Weaver offer their perspective on the Throwdown, to which CrossFit Avalanche graciously donated time, energy, space and equipment.

Even with a host of great athletes on hand, the stars aren’t just the visitors. Lewis says he’s inspired by his own athletes as they achieve their personal goals and improve their performance. Gym member Jeb Scicluna says it well: “It’s good to push yourself. When you think you’ve maxed out. That’s when you really start to learn and go and even push further while taking into consideration taking care of your body.”

Scicluna is motivated by his fellow athletes and loves working out with his team.

“Challenging your mind, your heart, your soul and your strength, that’s the motivator,” he says.
