3:28 Eric Bach and Taylor Filasky are part of the team The Modern Gypsies on “Expedition Impossible.” The reality show is a very physically demanding race across Morocco, and these CrossFitting contestants have won six of the seven race stages so far. The two of them came on the show to talk about how they used CrossFit to prepare themselves for the harsh physical and mental challenges they knew they would face during the race. Bach explained how he started CrossFitting in 2006 and introduced it to Filasky, and the competitors described why they consider CrossFit their secret weapon when the going gets tough.
30:45 Rebecca Voigt is now the third-fittest female on the planet after taking bronze at the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games. She described her experience at the competition and explained how she stepped up her training this past year by including special track workouts several times a week and swim training. Voigt, from Valley CrossFit, works out with Kristan Clever (second place) and Katie Hogan (20th), which clearly helped her take her training to another level. Because of a car accident prior to the competition, Voigt was plagued with a bad case of vertigo during the events, and she explained how she fought through to finish on the podium.
