4 rounds of:
30 double-unders
20 OHS (75/55 lb.)
15 wall-ball shots
10 burpees
(Rest 2-3 minutes between rounds)
1:55 At 22, Spencer Hendel is already a CrossFit Games veteran, with his highest placing coming this year, when he finished ninth. Hendel came on the show to talk about his training and how the 2011 Games compared to previous editions. He explained how he worked on upper-body gymnastics movements with a Russian coach and described his strategy for the contest in Carson. Hendel also shared a little about his athletic background, what it’s like to work at Reebok CrossFit One and how his life has changed since finding CrossFit.
33:30 Dave Newman followed his passion and turned it into a business that allowed him to change careers in his 40s. He is the owner of RX Jump Ropes and has become a double-under expert. Newman described how he sucked at double-unders and tried every rope on the market to help him improve. Along the way, he started to make his own ropes. This year, Rich Froning Jr. and Josh Bridges both competed using one of Newman’s ropes. Newman explained what you want to look for in a jump rope and how important it is to get one that fits your height, and he gave some great tips and advice on how to improve your doubles.
