CrossFit Del Mar recently celebrated its grand opening. Co-owner Chrisanna Northrup shares her story of how she opened her box.
Despite feeling like she had no time to work out, the mother of three and full-time worker managed to make time for CrossFit. When she first started, she says she was shocked at her lack of fitness and sought a change. CrossFit provided her with results.
“It slowly just changed my body, changed my energy, changed my relationship, just changed everything about me,” she says.
Northrup’s decision to open her own box came from the desire “to share it with other families and other people, and (I) wanted to create a gym where the whole family can come,” she says.
She found the other owners of CrossFit Del Mar when she looked into opening a box in her community. Her partners, Kim Bono and Mark Marek, were already affiliated and trying to find a space to start their own box. The trio immediately clicked and decided to go into the endeavor together.
“I’m a busy person, but I was able to make this work. I want to do this for other families,” Northrup says.
